RA/CUE positions

• The RA and CUE applications are hosted on the same website, and you can apply for both positions separately.
• Join one of our optional information sessions to explore the roles, hear from current staff, and get your questions answered.
  • Monday, October 13, 5 p.m., Willkie Quad, Room C155 (Willkie Auditorium)
• Submit your application and complete the CUE/RA Canvas course found in the application by 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
  • You can apply to both positions but will need to fill out both applications to be considered.
• RA candidates
  • On Tuesday, November 4, candidates selected to move forward will be invited to the individual interview process November 12–14, 2025.
  • In addition to the individual process, RA candidates will also receive information about how to submit a recommendation. Instructions about recommendations will be sent to candidates via email when they are invited to the individual process and will be due by 11:59pm on November 23, 2025.
• CUE candidates
  • On Tuesday, November 4, CUE candidates selected to move forward will get information about registering for the group process, which will take place on November 12–14.
  • CUE candidates chosen to move on from the group process will complete an individual interview on December 3–5.
• Job offers and updates will go out on Monday, January 26, 2026.

• Sophomore or higher class standing at the time employment begins.
• Possess and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• No substantial university conduct record.
• No outstanding or past due bills with the Office of the Bursar.
• Previous residence in a university residence hall or relatable experience.
• Able to begin employment the first week of August 

• RAs and CUEs receive a stipend of $3,570, which is paid out biweekly in equal installments over the course of the academic year, a single room in their assigned residence center, and a 7-day Classic Meal Plan.

Federal financial aid regulations require Indiana University’s Office of Student Financial Assistance to count all educational resources when determining each student's financial aid eligibility. Because of these regulations, benefits of the RA and CUE positions must be counted toward your financial aid.   

Live-in positions whose compensation includes free housing and a meal plan will receive a non-disbursing scholarship and counted as a financial aid resource. These benefits may impact other financial aid eligibility. When staff are hired, Residence Life notifies the IU Office of Student Financial Assistance who will post RA Housing and Food awards for the amount of the housing and food standard budget.
